SCIENTIFIC REPORTS – PAPER ON HEP B REMOVAL IN MFCS

Our new paper with Bristol BioEnergy Centre has just been released in Scientific Reports. We were investigating the suscpectibility of important infectious disease carrier – Hepatitis B to removal in microbial fuel cell system. It appeared, that both surface and core proteins of the viral structure can be destroyed in bioelectrochemical systems!

SUMMER VISITS

We are having very busy summertime! In July LMES has grown to seven members by hosting our international colleagues and students. Dr. Fatma Yalcinkaya, a group lead in Technical University of Liberec has joined us to work towards novel membranes for MFCs, while two graduate students will get their hands on MFC science: Omar Ahmed from Ondokuz Mayıs University (Samsun, TR) and Antonio Santoro (University of Ferrara, IT).
